Bad List

I saw an article the other day that had a list of the top ten toughest cities to find a job. Apparently there must be more columbus jobs than I thought because we weren't on the list.

Based on what my friend has been through in the last few years it feels like we should be. So given that, these cities must be REALLY rough.

It stinks that the economy has tanked so badly but in reality can we expect as a nation to sustain the insane growth that we have had over the last 100 years indefinitely? I don't think so, so maybe we are moving into something more slow for a longer period. Time will tell.

Soccer Season

I'm planning to coach the 6U team that my middle daughter will play on this year. I love soccer and I really enjoy helping kids learn to enjoy the sport. Plus it is starting to become apparent that our daughters are very different in their enjoyment of the different sports. My oldest seems to be taking to softball and really enjoys it. It took her 3 seasons to finally score a goal in soccer. My youngest daughter scored soccer goals in almost every game she played in her first season. It's really cool to see them grow and develop talents in the things they really enjoy doing.

Tressel

I have been arguing about whether OSU should fire Jim Tressel or not. It seems that the majority of my friends believe that they should not. I think that they should take a higher moral stand and get rid of him.

I think he has done an amazing job at OSU and made the last 10 years of football really enjoyable, and it's not like he needs alcohol detox, and I understand that. The fact is that he lied to the NCAA about whether or not his players were eligible and then pretended to be surprised when it all came to light.

We've all made mistakes and I'm all about forgiveness but the message OSU sends by keeping him is that winning is more important than integrity, and I'm not ok with that.

Don't Have It? Then Get It.

This is one of those things that no one likes to talk about but it's something that everyone needs to do. Get yourself some life insurance. Especially if you have kids. Protect their future now.

No one wants to think about that but if something happens to you, then the last thing you want them worrying about is where their next meal is coming from.

Sure no one likes to pay premiums for something that they hope to never use but it is the smart and responsible thing to do.

10 years next year

Next year will be our 10 year anniversary. We had always talked about going back to St. Thomas for our 10 year, but I doubt that we will be able to afford to do that. I'm hoping that we will be able to get away someplace nice and spend a few days however.

It would be nice to hang out together and enjoy some mutual gourmet anniversary gifts, as well as some great scenery.

Not sure what we have in mind exactly at this point but we'll think of something. We have more than a year to figure it out.

Obama 2012

I don't really purport to be a follower of either political party but you have to think that given the news of the last week and the republicans lack of anything resembling a credible contender, that we might as well go ahead and declare Obama the winner of the 2012 Presidential election.

I'm not particularly pleased with his run so far but that isn't the point. There just won't be any way to defeat a man who has Bin Laden's scalp on his resume. It will take more than a dose of Acneticin to clean up the contenders image enough to compete.

It's already over.

Cash Crate Starting to take off

I did some math yesterday and for the last 25 days I've averaged about 68 cents a day just from referral money. That doesn't count bonuses or anything, just the percentage I get from the offers and surveys my referrals are doing. Here's hoping it keeps increasing. I made over $54 last month, and I'm hoping I can break that record this month!
