I've heard a lot of commercials on the radio about car donation. I don't really know a lot about it but I have to imagine that it's a richer man's game. For most people in my situation, the thought of donating a working car that costs nothing and getting another car payment doesn't seem to make much sense. Don't get me wrong, I feel like charity is very important but I can't see how this particular one would be of much use to most people. Clearly it's working so perhaps I just misunderstand it but I don't see myself doing a lot of research on it in the near future.
If you are interested in learning more. Check out Car Angel. They are a not for profit company that uses the donations to make videos for kids and teens.

NFL Network
Well I was one of the lucky few who was able to watch the Packers/Cowboys game last night due to the rift between big cable and the NFL. I feel bad for those folks, hopefully they will get it worked out soon.
Other than seeing Aaron Rogers play, it turned out not to be that interesting. The refs pretty much decided the game. Two long interference penalties and a obvious interception that was taken away from Green Bay made the difference.
I have to say as well that the play by play guy (who's name I can't recall right now) was really hard to listen to. I'm not sure exactly why but his voice just didn't seem to fit.
The next time these two teams play, which will presumably be in the NFC championship game should be different, as Green Bay will have several key injured players back. Plus they might get better refs, in that game.

Cold...
It's really cold today, so hopefully our friends at the ski slopes are pumping out the white stuff. I'd love to get a run or two in before Christmas, which around here is pretty rare. Keep your fingers crossed...

Lights!
As of last night, the outside lights are up and glowing. I finally got the last two strands up there and I think it looks pretty cool.
I love decorating for Christmas. I also love looking at the decorations. It's not one of those neighborhood award winning displays but I like it. I actually decorated some of the trees in the front yard as well.
At some point it would definitely be fun to ramp it up a bit. I'm not sure how exactly but I definitely like to do that. Maybe a giant Santa on the roof, who knows. Any ideas? I'm all ears.

Everybody's Got One
I keep hearing things from people online and on the radio about how they don't want OSU to play in the national title game. I'm not the type of fan to flood their mailboxes with complaints about this because that just fuels the fire, and doesn't really accomplish anything helpful at all.
I'm not playing on saturday, and nothing that happens will have a lasting affect on what I do. I'm just a fan. I really hope that the chips fall the right way but if they don't, I'll get over it.
I think sometimes people allow themselves to become too emotionally involved. I've been guilty of that at times, and it seems ridiculous.

Wii Have a Shortage
Some friends of ours have been buying up Wii's lately and reselling them on ebay for $100 plus in profit. It's a good racket because the worst thing that can happen is you take it back to the store and get a refund, so at most you are out a couple bucks of ebay listing fees.
I just got off the phone with about 8 local stores and of course no one has any now. Not hard to believe with Thanksgiving tomorrow and the big shopping season about ready to explode. About the only way we could hope to get one now would be to be lucky enough to be in the store at the moment that the guy brings them up to the counter on the hand truck, but I bet there will be a line even for that. That demand is good and bad, because it drives up the ebay prices which is great, if you can find one at retail prices to sell.
As of midnight tomorrow night there will be people lining up in front of stores, building their sconce and digging in their heals to defend their place in line. And from that point forward, finding one sitting on a shelf will be about as likely as finding a winning lottery ticket on the ground in a casino.
It was a good idea at least. Maybe we can come up with some other toy that we can sell for money but it may be too late to do anything like that this year. I always seem to jump on these bandwagons a bit too late. Hopefully I will finally learn my lesson when it comes to things like this.

Horseless Carriageless Michigan
Lloyd "Horseless Carriage" Carr has left Michigan. Chances are they will get less miles out of their trade-in.
Ok so that pun was the whole point of this post, but in reality, it does concern me quite a bit as an OSU fan that Les Miles might be coming to the Big 10. Not only does he bring a fresh approach and optimism to a Michigan program, but it also means possibly more southern SEC type talent coming northward.
The only upside is a possible return of respect to the Big 10.
As long as he loses one specific game every year, I wish him the best...
