I didn't really know the difference between term life insurance and whole life insurance until very recently. Even now I doubt I could recite it to you if I had to, but all I know is that the stuff we have is the right kind.
I spent some time reading the paperwork and checking the internet to look up the stuff on the contract and it turns out that I bought the right thing. It isn't terribly cheap and no one likes to think about stuff like that but it is important.
Think about your family and look into it as soon as you can.
